Wonder Woman Casting News
For the most part, we’ve been gearing up for the Batman V. Superman flick that’s debuting next year, but many have been wondering what will be happening with the Wonder Woman movie slated to be released in 2017. Well it looks like some potential casting news has come down the pipeline.
Variety is reporting that Chris Pine (Star Trek, Horrible Bosses 2) is in talks to co-star in the Wonder Woman film. No this could mean a great many things, but what most are assuming is that Pine will be playing Steve Trevor. Trevor, in the comics, was a U.S. Intelligence officer that crash landed on the island of Themyscira and is nursed back to health by Diana (Wonder Woman). Before The New 52 (the current iteration of the DCU), Diana fell in love with Trevor and followed him back to the outside world becoming the hero Wonder Woman. In the current universe, this relationship is not explored and, instead Steve Trevor serves as Wonder Woman’s liaison when she comes to Washington D.C. and then serves as the Justice League’s liaison.
Warner Bros. has made no comment on what they’re in talks with actor about, but, once an official statement is made.
