This Storm was more like an Overcast.
Hey Folks! Welcome to another end of exciting week! I’m going to give my latest review for that natural disaster flick Into the Storm.
Honestly there’s not much I can say about this film, it was pretty predictable from beginning to end. I normally like natural disaster flicks. I enjoyed The Day After Tomorrow and Twister. Into The Storm just felt like a rehashing of Twister but with a Dante’s Peak layout. You knew exactly where it was going and who’s time was up in the movie. For it being so predictable I’d have to say I would have much rather enjoyed watching this piece from the comfort of my own home.
Visually, I was intrigued to see the formation of all these tornadoes, and the CGI used but don’t be fooled. Half, if not most, of it was filmed using the Found footage style. For those that aren’t familiar, films such as Chronicle, Cloverfield, Project X all use found footage. These movies give off the appearance of being real events stitched together using footage found from personal consumer cameras. Although it works in some stories, for others it makes the film quite jarring. Into the Storm is when not to use found footage.
Obviously it’s a no go for me, I’d rather you wait for this one to come out on DVD. Even then, I’d be weary about owning this one.
