The Rundown

…Annnnnd we’re back!

Hey Folks!

It’s been way too long since you’ve heard anything from The Boardroom the other Bosses I send you a heart-felt apology as we are currently undergoing some changes in our presentation. All in an effort to bring you more of the content you love in a more frequent format. Bare with us though, because Uncle Sam calls for his dues and we have bills to pay and since duty calls we can’t always make the time. We are going to do the best we can, however, to bring you what you need :). As always, please feel free to drop us a line. We’d love to hear from you and can always use a little feedback from the readers on the content they want to view in the next article.

I’ve been working hard rummaging through some entertaining content over the past couple of days trying to find some information to bring to the masses and I think I found a couple of things that you might enjoy.

The PS3
Recently, I added a PS3 to my collection of systems and I’ve been looking for some games to play that would keep me entertained on my time off found some games and some movies that I think are must haves for this system.

1. The Uncharted Series
This game series tells the story of a modern day treasure hunter by the name of Nathan Drake. Take everything you love about movies and gaming and combine it (successfully) into one form of content that you will enjoy from start to finish. If you have a PS3 and need a good story to get through your days off, You’ll definitely enjoy this.

2. Infamous
From the folks that brought you Sly Cooper comes a game that is so not that, but just as fun. Follow the story of Cole Mcgrath, a superhuman with electrifying new powers, who discovers his fate by the good or evil choices he makes along his journey. This free roaming, platformer, shooting game uses parkour to move the player accross their environment. I think this game did an excellent job utilizing the characters movement. Far more successfully than the game Prototype (which is very similar in story and genre). #justsayin

3. Dante’s Inferno (Divine Edition)
All my God of War fans: this game is definitely for you. If you’ve finished God of War and still crave for the ridiculously violent game play and level style, then Dante’s Inferno is probably what you’re looking for. based on the first part of Dante Alighieri’s famous Divine Comedy, this game takes a unique spin on a classic. Upon his return from the crusades, Dante finds his beloved fiance, Beatrice, killed in front of his home, and watches as her soul is carried away to the depths of hell by Satan. On his journey the 7 levels of Hell, Dante must confront his weaknesses as a man in order to bring Beatrice back to saftey. intricately crafted levels and an incredible story line make this game a real treat… A “must play” in my book.

4. Crisys 2
This game is available on both Xbox and Playstation. A unique first person shooter game that I found very similar to Halo. You take on the role of a marine codenamed “Alcatraz” who takes up wearing the Nanosuit 2.0, a staple in the games series. The suit is fully customizeable durring combat as are the weapons that are used. Both the suit and the weapons can be tailor made for scenarios you encounter throughout the development of the game. For instanced if there’s a wide open area of the map with multiple targets you can customize your suit to make your movements silent and sustain a longer cloaked status, while fitting your weapons with silencers and sniper scopes when available. Overall, I enjoyed this game for the experience of the single player gameplay.

Movies
There weren’t a whole lot of movies I was able to catch while we were on our hiatus, but there were a few some old and some new that caught my eye.

1. Kiss Kiss Bang Bang (oldie)
Definitely a suprisingly good Action-Comedy with great preformances by Robert Downey Jr. and Val Kilmer. This movie will definitely keep you entertained and help you see a side of two great actors that you’ve never seen before.

2. Madea’s Big Happy Family (freebie)
Haven’t really been into Tyler Perry movies for a while, but it was a freeby and I thought I’d give it a shot. The movie basically follows a mother (played by Loretta Divine) who has found out that she is dying of cancer. In an effort to tell her family, a side story developes that follows the journeys of three relationships (the two daughters and one son of Divin’s character) and how each of the men are being taken advantage of by the women in their lives. The younger male characters in this movie were the only “good guys” in the movie while their significant others bashed them unbelieveably. Watching those guys get hammered and beat down the way that they did, without arguement, was excruciating to say in the least. I’ve never been quite sure as to why Tyler Perry goes through such extremes to get a point accross. It gets to a point where you look at these guys and say to yourself “how pathetic”. While I think clearly defining the loveable characters is necessary it’s important to develope an understanding of all the characters involve so that we can appreciate their condition and better associate with them…. at least it had it’s funny moments.

Television
1. Breaking_in
A little comedy about a security system firm that test an exploits the flaws in their client’s security systems. Starring Christian Slater. Think of it like The Office meets Italian Job.

2. Mortal Kombat Legacy
Adaptation of the Mortal Kombat video game in YouTube episodes. It has a great storyline with a great environment revolving around the characters you know and love from MK history. Great show that will hopefully develop into a series or a Feature Length Film

3. Body of Proof
A show about a neurosurgeon, Dr. Megan Hunt, fallen from grace after the accidental death of one of her patients. The incident forces her from her practice and her family’s lives. She continues her career by becoming a medical examiner. Megan’s skills allows her to solve these cases but she has a tendency to grey the line between medical examiner and police detective. For me it’s like House meets CSI. It takes place in Philly (Woo!), well, it’s not actually filmed here but it’s great to see shots of the skyline and other key Points of Interest. The shows a treat and I’m enjoying it’s development so far.

Well that’s all I have for today people. Tomorrow look out for a review of the new Call of Duty: Black Op’s maps. Now beat it! lol

Metal Gear Solid 4. I knew I was forgetting something!!! can’t believe I did. That game was incredible. Best of both worlds. Both Movie and Video game. I jumped from Sons of Liberty straight to this, but MSG4 is pushing me to try Snake Eater just so I can have more of the story line. Heavenly Sword I will definitely have to check out though.

Check out a game called Singularity. It’s unique and pretty well done. First person shooter type but not run and gun. I found it very entertaining.
