Morlocks siting in X-Men: Apocalypse?
X-Men: Apocalypse director Bryan Singer has been keeping fans up to date with set photos and casting news for his current X-Men work. Today it looks like he’s filming a scene underground in the sewers.
To X-Men fans Caliban should sound familiar. He’s the mutant that gathers the members of the mutant group, the Morlocks. In the comics, the Morlocks are a group of mutants with abilities and physical mutations that live underground to cut themselves off from a world that shows them hate because of the physical mutations that they have. Caliban is the one who uses his sensory abilities to help locate the Morlocks.
So, it’s very possible that we could be seeing the Morlocks in Apocalypse. It’s also very possible, due to Caliban’s history, that we could see him appear as one of Apocalypse’s four horsemen. Either way there’s a lot more mutants we could see in this film. The beauty of it is that these mutants could show up as just characters in this movie and become more of the focus in other X-men movies. There’s a lot of room for good storytelling here.
