Gone Girl…This is how the Mystery-Thriller Genre is Done
Hey folks hope your weekend is off to great start. If you’re looking for a good film to watch this weekend then I definitely suggest Gone Girl, starring Ben Affleck, Rosamund Pike, Neil Patrick Harris.
This movie is almost 3 hours long, and you know I wouldn’t sit through a 3 hour movie unless I thought it was worth it, and, folks, this movie was definitely worth every last moment & every last cent. When a movie can successfully take you on an exploratory journey of the character’s transformation involved in the story is when you can really enjoy what’s happening in the cinematic world that is created. Gone Girl does an excellent job doing this using twists and turns that will blow your mind.
The acting was top bar on this one. This makes me hopeful for the Batman v. Superman flick that’s coming out. Ben Affleck does an amazing job as Nick Dunne, a man whose wife goes missing and foul play is suspected. He executes the role with such skill. You don’t know whether or not to be on his side as you follow this film.
I won’t give you too much about this film, because I feel like any little bit could affect how you view the film as it takes you through plot twists and surprises that will leave you pulling out your hair. Just know that this film was expertly executed and has produced, in my opinion, one of the greatest on-screen villains in cinema. As you watch the characters twist and warp as everything is revealed, you’ll want to know more, and by the time you finished you will have to stay in your seat just to deal with everything.
Folk, you’ll definitely want to make your way to the movies for this one. To see it at least once. It’s worth the time and money for your viewing pleasure. I want to revisit this review to include more spoilers. So watch the movie and come back and check out the spoiler review. I think this film will definitely have people talking for a while and begs the question: “How well can you REALLY know someone…?”
