Geek News of the Day 3/31/2014
The Professor checking in, dropping some knowledge and giving you the GNOD. The Boss did all the heavy lifting today, so take a look at what he gave us:
Arrow/Flash Spin-off News
The highly successful DC TV shows Arrow and Flash are now producing some spin-off shows. They’re adding a former time-traveling companion as a time traveler (I think he might know a thing or two about it), a feathered female warrior, and a mystery hero. Need a little more? The Boss laid it all out right here.
Suicide Squad News
In yesterday’s GNOD, we told you that Scott Eastwood had signed on to be in the Suicide Squad movie, but we weren’t really sure who he would be playing. Well, wonder no more, as it has been announced that Eastwood will play Wonder Woman associate Steve Trevor. Check out the details here.
A new casting report also leaked out today explaining that former Oz star Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje has signed on to play the role of Killer Croc. I’m extremely curious to see how they will portray this character in the movie, as I can’t imagine it’ll be easy to pull off and have it look realistic. More details about this report and about Croc here.
Assassin’s Creed Chronicles
Here at the Bosses’ Desk we are big, big fans of the Assassin’s Creed series of games. While we love the games and wish we could see the series expanded into more countries, more worlds of different types of assassins, we know they simply can’t make that many games. Ubisoft also realized this, but wanted to make sure they gave us as much story as possible. So while they can’t do so in full blown AC games, they have gone ahead and made a new series of 2D side scrollers known as Assassin’s Creed Chronicles. Chronicles will be taking us to China, Russia, and India as various points in history. Check out the announcement trailer here.
Live Action Mulan on Disney’s Plate
Disney has been breathing new life into their classics by remaking them in live action format. Beauty and the Beast is shaping up to be a great movie and Disney’s not done there. They are also moving towards Dumbo, The Jungle Book, and another entry into the Alice and the Wonderland series. Well now we’re hearing they’re adding Mulan to the mix which is another great title to add to the list. If Disney keeps this up, we might to get to see a live action Aladdin.

Pac-Man attacks Google Maps
Closing out the news for today we thought we’d add in the big craze for today, brought to us by the brilliant mind at Google. If you bring up Google Maps and click on the Pac-Man icon that now appears on the map, it will turn the area you are looking at into its own Pac-Man level. There’s no word on how long this will stick around as Google is known to throw these things out there then pull them back, so give it a look while you still can.
