Hey folks, Happy Valentine’s Day from The Bosses’ Desk! This weekend you are no doubt snuggled up with your boos or, like me, just enjoying another day of life in this world contemplating what’s going on in the Geek world! Today, I have a few news Items here for you of upcoming things happening in Geek culture. Let’s begin!
Naruto Manga Sells Big in Finale
The amazingly popular Japanese Manga written by Masashi Kishimoto released its final volume on February 4th and performed incredibly on it first week selling a whopping 874,120 titles. Way to go Naruto! We’ll miss you and the encouraging lessons to continue to push through insurmountable odds in spite of. We salute you, dattebayo! For now, we can take solace in the fact that we can still watch the anime until it catches up to the end of a wonderful age.
Gina Carano Makes the Cast of Deadpool
Good news coming from the folks at Fox. Looks like Gina Carano has been cast in the upcoming Deadpool movie. The role she is playing is that of Angel Dust, who is a mutant that belongs to the group, The Morlocks. Angel Dust has the ability to increase her adrenaline levels, which grants her superhuman strength for a time. Carano will be joining Ryan Reynolds (Deadpool) and T.J. Miller. Deadpool is set to be released on February 12, 2016.
Crimson Peak Trailer Released!
A new trailer has been released for Crimson Peak. A Guerillmo Del Toro film starring Tom Hiddleston, Jessica Chastain, & Charlie Hunnam. The cast is strong, the visuals are stunning. Truth be told the genre is Horror, but I’ll watch this film because it’s Del Toro and Hiddleston is an amazing actor. The story is described as this:
In the aftermath of a family tragedy, an aspiring author is torn between love for her childhood friend and the temptation of a mysterious outsider. Trying to escape the ghosts of her past, she is swept away to a house that breathes, bleeds…and remembers.
The imagery looks great, and, honestly, I’m looking forward to being scared out of my seat. Crimson Peak hits theaters October 16, 2015.
