Apostle Paul Starring Hugh Jackman
Today, I have some pretty epic news regarding another Biblical Epic that’s going into development. The news is that Warner Bros. is working on the new epic starring Christianity’s prolific Apostle, Paul, in a new epic that is set to star Hugh Jackman (X-Men, Les Misérables, Chappie). Jackman has also signed on to produce the film as well joining Ben Affleck and Matt Damon, who are producers on the film.
Producers Jennifer Todd and Chris Clarke have also join the 3 actors as producers and hope to match the success of other religious features such as Noah, Exodus: Gods and Kings, God’s Not Dead, and the Passion of the Christ.
Saul was a Jewish man in the Bible, who we are first introduced to as the man who facilitated the stoning of the disciple Stephen, the first Christian Martyr. Before his conversion to Christianity, his goal was to persecute all those who would follow Jesus and the Gospel preached by the Apostles.
Ultimately Saul would meet Jesus on the road to Damascus, where he was stricken blind after seeing Jesus shrouded in a bright white light. His blindness finally being healed after the Christian Ananias prayed for him, he converted to Christianity, his name changed to Paul, preaching the word of God to both Jewish and Roman; suffering imprisonment for his missionary work, but continuing his work even in imprisonment.
Apostle Paul is starting to look like what could legitimately be an Oscar contender. The Character study is rich and the message is positive. What will make this project is who will sign on to be director. We’ll get you more details as the story develops.
