Constantine: Fall TV Premiers
Hey folks hope you’re enjoying your holiday weekend. It’s an extra day off, so binge watch TV series you haven’t been able to watch. For me it’s going to be Breaking Bad. This fall, however new shows will be coming into the fray. NBC is bringing Constantine back to the public eye come October 24 of this year and it’s shaping up to be a very interesting piece of work.
A Constantine true to the source
The show stars Matt Ryan (for those of you that are aware of these names, he’s the voice behind Edward Kenway from Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag) as John Constantine, a con man who does questionable things for the greater good. It’s an ultimate battle of good vs. evil. Constantine uses his occult knowledge to defeat the demonic powers that are rising in the world.
Constantine stays true to the original source material. Constantine in the series will go to his original accent and design. In the comics, Constantine’s whole visual presence was based on the singer, Sting, and you can see that clearly being the influence of costume design in this show. It will definitely be a joy following this series as the story develops.
It’s an interesting show in the fact that it plays out like a Horror film similar to the comics. There are moments that will have you jumping in your seat and wanting to see how this story plays out. Constantine finds himself trying to pay back an old debt that brings him back into the fray of good vs. evil. Now the pilot that I have access to will most likely be changed slightly upon release so that they can keep as much to the original source material as possible as to keep the plot consistent.
Check out the Trailer
There’s also little Easter egg in there for D.C. fans. I’m sure we’ll get a few more interesting cameos from other magically inclined D.C. characters. Definitely check this one out. Constantine debuts on NBC on October 24, 2014.
If you’re binge watching Breaking Bad, you may not sleep this weekend. Best show ever.
